Samara & Dylan - Autumn Azuridge Estate Hotel Wedding
I could see immediately on arrival why Azuridge Estate Hotel had been Samara’s dream wedding location for a long time (and Dylan’s by default if he wanted to marry her). As luck would have it, they got the whole place to themselves and we could really capture the magic of their wedding day, in this truly amazing location.
I first met Samara and Dylan at their engagement session. I loved how open they were to just having fun with their photos and it makes sense when you know them, they are really fun people. We did their engagement session August 3rd at Wedge Pond near Kananaskis. The smoke from the wildfires in California was creating a haze which I think gave everything a soft, romantic look (not that I am pro-wildfires! Just looking for the positives).

After the ceremony I whisked them away for some pictures together. This is my favourite part of weddings, once the pressure has come off and all the official bits of paper are signed. Then we get to just spend some time decompressing and remembering why you put yourself through planning a wedding in the first place! Samara and Dylan’s love for each other is easy to see, and easy to capture. I am so grateful I got to be part of their day and capture some images for them to keep forever.
YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!
Marriage is recognising that you are going to spend the rest of your life worrying about someone else’s outfit as much as your own.
Who doesn’t love a spiral staircase? Good for photos or a fencing duel.
My personal favourite moment was when the cake was brought out and they had a picture from their engagement session printed on it!
I took a photo of a photo I took, on a cake.
It is no longer a surprise that Samara and Dylan are expecting a new addition to their family soon. One of the best parts of this job is getting to build relationships with people and families that continue on. Engagements, weddings, babies, family shoots - it is so special to be invited into their important life moments and know that you get to be responsible for capturing an enduring record of their lives.
See you soon Samara and Dylan!
